New England Seen Differently

I am a fine-art landscape photographer drawn to the wilderness landscapes of New England and to the constant process of change that defines them. It’s mountains, forests, wetlands, and seacoast have shaped my lifelong connection to this region. New England is a landscape of transitions. It has four distinct seasons that continually transform the landscape, and it has notoriously changeable weather.

I also seek landscapes without human elements. Within these wilderness settings, I look for both the grandeur of the larger landscape and the quieter beauty of intimate details. Rather than concentrating on New England's most iconic landscapes, I also photograph it’s quieter places and less familiar subjects. The resulting images are not simply a record of where I have been, but an attempt to convey what it felt like to be there in that moment.

For me, the true attraction of photographing in New England is returning to the same places and discovering that they are never quite the same. This website is a portfolio of that ongoing exploration, a personal view of the wild landscapes of New England and the changing moods they reveal.
